German Innovation Award 2019: GEZE wins again with the TS 5000 SoftClose

And the winner is… GEZE TS 5000 SoftClose! For the second time in a row, GEZE has been awarded the coveted German Innovation Award, which is presented annually by the German Design Council. Our extremely powerful yet gentle TS 5000 SoftClose door closer again demonstrates what GEZE stands for: innovative products made in Germany.

Innovation is a very abstract term. This is why the German Innovation Award aims to make innovations visible and concrete. The German Design Council this year again awarded prizes to products and solutions that are distinguished by one thing in particular: they are user-centric and bring real added value compared to existing solutions. "The GEZE TS 5000 SoftClose door closer impressed the esteemed jury because of its very high degree of flexibility in particular. Depending on the user's needs, the door’s latching action can be adjusted individually or the door leaf can be stopped at the last opening level. This allows doors to close even under difficult ambient conditions," says the German Design Council.

Reliable, safe and quiet closing of doors – for a wide range of applications

Thanks to the optimised closing process, the door is securely and reliably pulled into the lock with consistent force, even in windy and draughty conditions, e.g. in interlocking door systems at underground car park entrances or in stairwells. The TS 5000 SoftClose door closer is also the right choice where doors need to be closed quietly and safely – whether in clinics, hotels or apartment buildings. Damping the door shortly before the closing position is reached prevents it from banging. The end closing speed can be regulated easily and flexibly via a valve.
